Botox treatment for lip lines
Fine vertical lines above the upper lip, often called smoker's lines, although they develop just as much in non-smokers.

Your concern
Fine vertical lines form above the upper lip, for example from pursing your lips, sports with a mouthguard, wind instruments or UV exposure. Lipstick then tends to bleed into the lines.
The treatment
Very small amounts of botulinum toxin are placed superficially into the ring muscle of the mouth. This softens the movement that deepens the lines.
Possible result
The fine lines around the mouth can smooth out. As the mouth is very active, the effect usually lasts 2 to 3 months.

What happens after your appointment
Day 0
Consultation and treatment
I assess your facial expressions, we set the goal together, and I treat using very fine needles. Duration: 10 minutes. You can go straight back to your day.
After 3 to 7 days
The effect starts
The muscle relaxes gradually. The full result shows after about two weeks.
Day 14
Follow-up
We look at the result together. If a small adjustment is needed, it's free.
After 2 to 3 months
Top up if you like
The body breaks the product down and the effect wears off. Whether and when you top up is your decision.

When Botox is the right fit here
Botulinum toxin mainly helps with lines caused by movement. Very deep lines or sun damage often need other methods as well.
Speaking and drinking naturally
The dose is especially low here so that speaking, drinking and kissing stay completely normal.

Are lip lines only an issue for smokers?
No. The lines are caused by any frequent pursing movement and by skin ageing, even without smoking.
How does the lip feel after treatment?
It may feel a little unusual in the first days. This usually settles quickly.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
Stay upright for about 4 hours, don't massage the treated area, and avoid intense exercise, sauna and strong sun for 24 hours.
How does the follow-up work?
